The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani, stated to Kosovo Online that there are 165 warrants in northern Kosovo dating from 1999 to the present, covering both Serbs and Albanians.

Elshani explained that they have actually been searching for 111 individuals, and since some are charged with multiple criminal offenses, there are 165 warrants.

"Just like everywhere in Kosovo, every region has people who are on wanted lists. We have 111 individuals who are being sought across northern Kosovo from 1999 to the present. Warrants have been issued for smuggling, theft, murder, etc. It could be that some of them have two or three warrants, which is why the number has increased to 165 warrants, but the number of individuals being sought is 111. It's not unusual. For example, Peć has more than 630 warrants," stated Elshani.

He emphasized that among these 111 individuals, there may be those charged with war crimes.

"This is not unusual; 111 individuals are being sought across northern Kosovo. For example, out of these 111, there are 25 Albanians and 76 Serbs," Elshani noted.
