First baby born in Gračanica in the year 2024

The first baby in Gračanica was born at two hours and 35 minutes after midnight, said Dr. Bratislav Lazic, the director of the Clinical-Hospital Center Pristina with a temporary seat in Gračanica, for Kosovo Online. "I had a son, around 2:30 this morning, it was unexpected, the baby surprised us. I am satisfied with the conditions here; the staff is good. We haven't decided on the name yet; we have one wish, but we will see with the godparents," she said.

The director of the Clinical-Hospital Center Pristina with a temporary seat in Gračanica, Prof. Dr. Bratislav Lazic, emphasized that the year has started well for the healthcare institution because the first baby was born healthy two and a half hours after midnight.

"To our satisfaction, on New Year's night, immediately after midnight, at 2:35 am, a baby boy was born. The mother and the baby are feeling well for now, and I hope it stays that way. The mother is from Strpce, everything went smoothly, and we are very satisfied. Another delivery is currently in progress; January 1st started nicely for us, and we hope and wish that it will get even better throughout the entire year and beyond," said Lazic.

He added that during the past year, there were 25 more births in Gracanica compared to 2022.

"Last year was more successful and better in terms of births compared to 2022; we had 25 more live-born babies than in 2022, which brings us joy and satisfaction. We expect this trend to continue throughout 2024," concluded Lazic.
