Germany: Migrants from Kosovo are the most frequent perpetrators of domestic violence

In the annual report of the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany, presented in Berlin, it is stated that in 2021 there had been 997 recorded cases of domestic violence among immigrants, most of them from Kosovo, Klan Kosova reports.

"Almost every three days, a woman dies from violence by a partner or ex-partner," said the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth of Germany, Lisa Paus, at a press conference on the occasion of the presentation of the report. 

According to the statistics of the Federal Criminal Police Office, in 2021, the authorities registered a total of 143,604 people affected by violence committed by partners or ex-partners, and 80 percent of the victims were women.  

In 2021, 59.6 percent of cases involved intentional assault causing bodily harm.

Others are cases of threats, stalking, and coercion. In third place are serious bodily injuries (12.2 percent).

The number of violators from Kosovo was 1,049.
