Sekulic: Political and economic pressure is exerted on the Serbs in Kosovo

In addition to political pressure, the Serbs in Kosovo were now under economic pressure, Sasa Sekulic from the Association of Serbian Businessmen in Gracanica told Kosovo Online, regarding the announcement by the Tax Administration of Kosovo that they would punish companies from the north that did not register in the Kosovo system.

Sekulic points out that the pressure exerted on the Serbs in the south of Kosovo is now being transferred to the north, and that some solution must be found for businessmen in the north, after the announcement by the Tax Administration that companies will be punished.

"There is pressure, some solution must be found for businessmen from the north. In the beginning, it happened here to us, we had to re-register and register our companies in Kosovo business, whether that will be a possibility and some kind of a solution in the north, remains to be seen," Sekulic said.

He expressed the hope that this topic would be discussed at the meeting in Brussels at the highest level, which was scheduled for September 14, and warned that the Serbs in Kosovo, in addition to political pressures, were now facing economic pressures as well as pressures of another kind.

"There are all kinds of pressures, there is a kind of political and economic pressure. There is even cultural and sports pressure when sports teams are banned from entering to play a game. We also have pressure, which I must mention, in addition to the ban on Serbian goods, it is the ban on receiving shipments, and packages, and the non-arrival of the press in Serbian areas; all of these are pressures that have lasted for decades and have especially intensified in the last year," Sekulic said.

He states that he is not surprised by the absence of a stronger reaction from the international community, because, as he points out, they are the "creators of all this".
