SURVEY The same wishes from Belgrade to Tirana: Health, happiness and a more peaceful Balkans in 2024
The more peaceful Balkans, health, happiness and success on the business and personal level... This is what the citizens of Pristina, Gracanica, Severna Mitrovica, Belgrade, Skopje and Tirana want in 2024.
The citizens of Pristina said that in the next year they expect health for themselves and their loved ones, as well as a more peaceful Balkans where everyone will be able to live together.
Among the wishes of the residents of Pristina are love and success in education or work.
In the next year, the residents of Gracanica expect, above all, good health, and progress. While some will welcome the New Year at home with friends, others have decided to use their non-working days to travel.
"We expect the best. More health, happiness. We hope for progress and that everything will be as it should be here in Kosovo. I will welcome the New Year at home with my family and friends," said the resident of Gracanica.
In 2024, the citizens of North Mitrovica first of all want peace, but also to see Serbian products in stores again.
Andjela Vitorovic from North Mitrovica says that one of her wishes in the coming year 2024 is to have Serbian products in stores.
"Honestly, for everything to calm down here and for it to be as it used to be. For everyone to be alive and healthy, for everything to calm down and for us to live normally, and for us to have Serbian products. I hope for some better times," says Andjela.
Young people in Belgrade enter the New Year with great expectations that it will be better in every sense. While some want more health, happiness, and love, others expect well-deserved success and less stress, and among young Belgraders there are also those who want to do even more good deeds for others next year.
"I hope that it will be better in the new year and that things around me will be better in every sense. This year I managed to do many good deeds, I hope that next year I will be able to do even more", said Dusan.
Dusan's fellow citizen expects that he will succeed in what he does and start working as hard as possible.
"This year I started well, I want to enter university, make some connections, meet some new people, get hot," adds Petar, while his compatriot Jovana expects more success, happiness, love, health, as before.
More success at university, more diverse educational opportunities, business opportunities, a stable financial situation, a fulfilling social life and preservation of a healthy environment are the wishes of young people from Skopje on the occasion of the New Year.
A student from Skopje told Kosovo Online that she would like young people to have more support during the next year when it comes to investments in education.
She also added that the promotion of preserving mental and physical health would be of great importance for young people.
The citizens of Tirana believe that things will be better in the New Year and that they should stay in Albania, which is "on the right path". Others, however, think that nothing will change in the coming year and expect to move abroad.
"First of all, we want to be healthier. That's the most important thing. We also want to have as much work as possible. I think Albania is on the right track. I say this because I see what's happening. Of course, many people are not happy, but things are going in the right direction , and slowly everything will be fine. Of course, the future should be here. We also thought of leaving the country, but if we don't stay here, Albania will not be better," says one resident of Tirana.
