Aliu claims that 75 percent of the buildings in Kosovo are without a permit
The Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Liburn Aliu said that in Kosovo, more than 75 percent of buildings were built without a permit, Ekonomia Online reports.
He said at the session of the Assembly, where the Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Treatment of Unlicensed Buildings was being considered, that 352,000 buildings in Kosovo were unlicensed, while there were about 46,000 such buildings in Pristina alone.
"We are in a situation where 352,000 buildings in Kosovo are without a permit. In Pristina, there are 46,000 buildings without a permit. Do you know how much that is? As a percentage of the total, that is more than 75 percent of the buildings in all of Kosovo. Do you know that all the planning over the years was done without considering these buildings without a permit? We had plans; there are many plans for which the municipality of Pristina has not yet issued a permit, because they were fabricated plans. The Medresa neighborhood in Pristina is completely unauthorized," he said.
