The Alliance of Kosovar Businesses warned today that due to the measures adopted by the European Union, because the Pristina authorities refused to fulfill the demands for de-escalation in the north, Kosovo might lose more than 500 million euros by the end of the year.

The Alliance of Kosovar Businesses warned that EU measures were harmful to Kosovo economically, diplomatically, and politically. They rated these measures as the most serious since 2008.

"On June 29, Alliance of Kosovar Businesses warned how serious these measures are, because they will seriously damage the economy by limiting funds from IPA funds, programs of the European Commission, as well as by suspending the Stabilization and Association Agreement and suspending all bilateral meetings with the EU. The government must come to its senses when it comes to relations with the EU and the US," the announcement of the Business Alliance states.

According to the Alliance of Kosovar Businesses, where there are sanctions, there are no foreign investments, and this will affect the reduction of economic growth and the loss of Kosovo's good image.

"If this continues, by the end of the year, Kosovo may lose more than 500 million euros in export support approved by the EU, and the possibility of postponing the deadline for the start of visa liberalization for Kosovo is not ruled out," the Alliance said.
