Muharremi on the American-Serbian Business Council: Let's learn from Serbia; economics above politics
Analyst Shenoll Muharemi commented today on the founding ceremony of the American-Serbian Business Council in Washington, where the US ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, the US Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, and the Serbian ambassador to the US Marko Djuric took part, and pointed out that Kosovo should learn from Serbia how the favor of friendly countries was gained and the economy overcame political differences.
On Facebook, he reacted to the photo of the smiling ambassadors of Serbia and the US and wrote that he had been struck by the amount of "will and smiles" in that photo.
"I was a bit struck by the photo of Serbia with Escobar and Hill founding the American-Serbian Council. There were so many smiles and will in the photo. That's how ties are strengthened. When you connect economically, you have connected it very well. You have created an automatic mechanism for lobbying for you. What a good job by Hill and Escobar and Djuric. Serbia and the US are doing a good job. Learn from the enemy if you have to. I am even stronger and more motivated to work. No matter how difficult the period is, it does not last forever," Muharremi said.
Muharremi assessed that the message of the American-Serbian Business Council was more economics and less politics.
"To develop our businesses and connect them to the world. Today when I spoke to a local leader about BlackRock, I was fascinated by his knowledge. But when he goes to parliament, he talks about crises! We are not using our people properly. We have got the topics wrong. But we can fix them if we want," Muharremi said.
