Gerxhaliu: Public enterprises' poor management is one of the biggest crimes in Kosovo
Economic expert Safet Gerxhaliu believes that public companies in Kosovo should be urgently privatized, Ekonomia online reports.
Gerxhaliu points out that public enterprises have been poorly managed in the last 24 years.
"I believe we agree that one of the biggest crimes committed in Kosovo after the 1999 war is the mismanagement of public enterprises. Instead of these companies being pillars of construction and economic development, social stability and promotion of Kosovo all over the world, today they are the state's burden," Gerxhaliu said.
Gerxhaliu also pointed out that public companies should be privatized because failure in management fell on the citizens.
"We need the depoliticization of those companies, we need a new restructuring and a different approach because they experience failure when politics is the main determinant of their management, and that failure is now costing the citizens of Kosovo," Gerxhaliu emphasized.
