Officers of the Kosovo Police have issued a fine to a person in North Mitrovica for wearing a T-shirt bearing "elements that could provoke an incident," the police confirmed to Kosovo Online.

According to the Deputy Regional Commander for the North, Veton Elshani, the police carried out checks on a total of three individuals in two separate incidents today.

"During a routine patrol today, police first stopped two individuals because they were wearing T-shirts with inscriptions in the Cyrillic script. The officers were merely checking what exactly was written on the shirts, and after it was established that the inscriptions contained nothing unlawful, the individuals were allowed to continue on their way. Police then stopped a third individual who was wearing a T-shirt bearing inscriptions that could provoke members of the public and lead to an incident. That individual was issued a fine," Elshani said.
