Kosovo Police today detained two men in North Mitrovica who are suspected of being employees of the Serbian Post, Veton Elshani, Deputy Director of Kosovo Police for the North region, confirmed to Kosovo Online.
“They were delivering Serbian mail in Kosovo, which is illegal. These included court summons, court decisions, letters from the tax administration, and other items. A case of economic crime has been opened,” Elshani said.
He added that the case is being handled by the Department for Economic Crime in Mitrovica.
In August 2024, Kosovo Police also raided and closed nine branches of the Serbian Post in four municipalities in northern Kosovo—North Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zubin Potok, and Zvecan—stating at the time that they “were not registered with the competent institutions of Kosovo.
