Lawyer Miljkovic: Vlaskovic was sentenced to one month's detention despite the evidence that he is not guilty
Nemanja Vlaskovic, who had been arrested by the members of the Kosovo Police for an alleged attack on journalists, had been ordered to be detained for 30 days by the Basic Court in North Mitrovica, his defense lawyer Predrag Miljkovic confirmed for Kosovo Online.
Lawyer Miljkovic said that he was very dissatisfied with the court's decision and that he had submitted to the court photographs and a video showing that Nemanja Vlaskovic had not in any way done what he had been charged with.
"We will file an appeal against the detention decision within the legal term. Vlaskovic was transferred to the detention unit in Podujevo and I will go to visit him tomorrow," Miljkovic says.
He states that he said that Vlaskovic is suspected by the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Mitrovica of having committed criminal acts of destruction or damage to property, causing discord and intolerance, and participating in a group that commits the criminal act of hooliganism.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Svecla, published a photo of a person with a hood and dark glasses, claiming that it was the arrested Nemanja Vlaskovic, whom he claimed had participated in the attack on Albanian journalists on May 29 in Leposavic.
In the photos that appeared on social networks, Vlaskovic can be seen standing in the crowd, but he is a few meters behind a person wearing a hood, whom Svecla circled and said was Vlaskovic.
