Miljkovic: The photos clearly show that Obrenovic was detained before the start of the conflict
Lawyer Predrag Miljkovic says that it is evident from the photographs published by RTV Kim that his client Dusan Obrenovic, who was arrested in Zvecan on Monday, protested peacefully and was pulled into the KFOR cordon from the ground.
According to the report by RTV Kim, the material filmed by their team on Monday, May 29, in the afternoon, just before the outbreak of the unrest in Zvecan, shows that Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic "disappeared" behind the KFOR cordon prior to the incident, indicating that they did not participate in it and could not have attacked anyone since they were previously detained.
"The most accurate moment, the exact second of their deprivation of liberty, can be seen from these photographs. Both Dusan Obrenovic and Rados Petrovic were deprived of their liberty by KFOR, from the ground, between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m., not as stated by the police at 11:30 p.m. They were peacefully protesting while sitting on the ground," Miljkovic said.
Miljkovic added that the footage is authentic, and he would submit the photographs to the court and the prosecutor's office today. He also emphasized that he had visited his client yesterday.
"Dusan is somewhat more physically stable, but he is still frightened. I am genuinely concerned about his safety, and I have requested his transfer to the prison in Mitrovica from the Correctional Service, awaiting a response. I wrote to them, and I will tell you as well, I fear that all the political tensions from Zvecan have transferred to the prison population in Gnjilane, and problems could easily arise. That is why I believe it is best to transfer him to Mitrovica," Miljkovic said.
In the sequentially recorded photographs over a one-minute period published by RTV Kim, it is also visible how the arrested Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic "disappear" behind the KFOR cordon.
Another person was pulled behind the cordon with them but was later released.
Upon further examination of the recorded material, RTV Kim determined that the footage clearly shows Rados Petrovic calling on the gathered people to calm down and sit, and then singing "Kosovo is the Heart of Serbia" with them. At that moment, the KFOR cordon momentarily "opens," and Petrovic and Obradovic "disappear" within it.
Rados Petrovic's defense lawyer, Attorney Dejan Vasic, stated that he would also submit the footage and photographs to the Special Prosecutor's Office today.
"I will submit the footage and photographs to the Special Prosecutor's Office today to dispel any doubts regarding my client. From the footage, it is clear that Petrovic was pulled into the KFOR cordon from a seated position before the start of the unrest," Vasic said.
