Radulovic remanded in custody for one month over alleged involvement in Banjska events
Stefan Radulovic from North Mitrovica, whom the prosecution suspects of alleged involvement in the events in Banjska in September 2023, has been placed in one-month pre-trial detention by the Basic Court in Pristina, his defense lawyer Bogdan Lazic confirmed to Kosovo Online.
Earlier today, a hearing to determine detention was held before the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina.
Following the hearing, Lazic expressed doubt that any judge would impose a more lenient measure and had already announced that the defense would file an appeal.
According to him, Radulovic is suspected of criminal offenses “against the constitutional order and security of Kosovo” and “association for the purpose of committing terrorism.”
“The Special Prosecution bases its suspicion that Stefan Radulovic, on the basis of messages extracted from the phone of one of the suspects in the Banjska case, was their associate and participant in the commission of the criminal offense of terrorism in Banjska. He is charged with association for the purpose of terrorism and a serious criminal offense against the constitutional order and security of Kosovo,” Lazic said.
He emphasized that the suspicion is based solely on messages in which Radulovic’s name is mentioned and possibly on a single photograph.
“This does not prove that it is the same person; it only deepens suspicion. He has never previously been prosecuted nor committed any criminal offense,” Lazic added.
