Hoti: Loss of international support could impact February election results
Afrim Hoti, a professor of law and international relations at the University of Pristina, has stated that despite the Self-Determination Movement and Albin Kurti enjoying voter support, the loss of international backing could influence the outcome of Kosovo's elections in February.
"The situation is complicated because it seems that the ruling parties still have support. However, from an international perspective, it appears that the current parties in power have somewhat lost support, and this will create new circumstances regarding the upcoming elections in Kosovo," Hoti told Kosovo Online.
He doubts that the results on February 9 will mirror those of four years ago when the Self-Determination Movement secured a record number of votes.
Hoti believes that three or four major parties will have equal chances for a good result in the upcoming elections.
"I think there will be a balance between three or four main political parties. At the same time, I do not believe the result will be what we saw four years ago," Hoti emphasized.
