Popovic: I hope the Serb List wins all ten mandates, then Kurti will not be able to play with the fate of the Serbs

Serb List parliamentary candidate Srdjan Popovic stated that Albin Kurti is trying in every possible way to create room for Nenad Rasic to win one mandate and expressed hope that the Serb List will succeed in winning all ten mandates reserved for Serbs, because in that case Kurti will not be able to play with the fate of the Serbs.

“The atmosphere is full of pressure. We are used to pressure. People have been arrested, voter rolls are being reduced, and there are also attempts to buy votes. Pristina wants by all means to create space for its favorite, Nenad Rasic, so that he can win a mandate. I hope that this time we will succeed in returning that mandate to our people. Our response will be dignified and will be reflected in a massive turnout at the elections,” Popovic told Pink TV.

He added that the people arrested in Gracanica are honorable and honest individuals, professors and doctors, who were arrested without any legal basis.

“Their goal is to create fear among Serbs through arrests. The directors of healthcare and educational institutions were arrested without any legal basis and were ordered into 30-day detention, but they failed to discourage our people. I believe they have united them even more. I hope we will receive a large number of votes in the parliamentary elections,” Popovic said.

According to him, Albin Kurti is trying in every possible way to create room for Nenad Rasic to win one mandate.

“It is important for us that this one mandate returns to the side of the Serbian people. At this stage of the campaign, I see that our people are politically more mature. I hope that we will succeed in winning all ten mandates reserved for Serbs. In that case, Albin Kurti will not be able to play with our fate. He will have to talk to the genuine representatives of the Serbian people,” he pointed out.

He stated that everyone expects the entry of Vjosa Osmani into the election race to affect Albin Kurti's result.

“Everyone expects that Vjosa Osmani will take one percent of the vote away from Kurti. Kurti is an absolutist and leaves no room for any kind of agreement or for a multiethnic Kosovo. He devotes all of his efforts to a nationalist policy that advocates exclusively Albanian interests. Within that narrative, we as a people are highly endangered. The sole goal of his policy is for our people to disappear from these areas,” Popovic concluded.
