Simic: Serbs should turn out in the largest possible number and vote for the Serb List
Member of the Presidency and Serb List parliamentary candidate Slavko Simic emphasized that Serbs should turn out in the largest possible number in tomorrow’s elections, despite all the pressure from Albin Kurti, and cast their votes for the Serb List so that it can take over all positions belonging to the Serbian people in Kosovo institutions.
Simic told Prva TV that both before and especially during the campaign, the Self-Determination Movement has turned to extreme repression against the Serbian people at all levels.
He recalled that doctors and educators were arrested in Gracanica, that a Serb List activist was then arrested in Ugljare on Thursday, and that yesterday in North Mitrovica the mayor and the Municipal Assembly president were detained simply for implementing municipal decisions.
“Pressure is present every day at all levels in areas with a Serbian majority. Based on that, we can see Kurti’s methodology of repression and intimidation of the Serbian people in order to reduce support for the Serb List and thereby open the way for his collaborator Nenad Rasic, who wants and is trying to steal one parliamentary mandate so that together with Kurti he can continue harming the vital interests of Serbs,” Simic said.
According to him, Kurti is “investing” in Rasic because he works on dividing the Serbian people and has no communication with the state leadership or the President of Serbia.
“He is investing in those who are supposed to enter parliament but not represent the interests of Serbs, but rather serve as a cover for conducting a campaign against our people, the president, and our institutions. All of this has been very carefully designed by Kurti with the goal of intimidating our people and trying in the elections to reduce the support that the Serbian people wholeheartedly give to the Serb List. He is also doing all of this in order to gain some political points with his own electorate at the expense of the Serbian people,” Simic explained.
He stressed that citizens understand very well that this is a moment when Serbs must not be divided, but must rise up and believe in themselves.
“Regardless of everything that has happened and all the pressures, we must rise up and fight to survive. The only chance is to go out to the polls in the largest possible number and take all ten seats. For our people to take all positions in all institutions that belong to them, and through them to be the connective tissue with our state Serbia so that it can continue helping us so that we can survive. To go out in the largest possible number, to circle number 119, the Serb List, and achieve a great victory,” Simic told citizens.
