Abdixhiku: Prices have increased by more than 50 percent; the government is not offering a solution
The president of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, says that in the last two years, inflation in Kosovo has exceeded 20 percent and that prices have risen by more than 50 percent, which has made life difficult for citizens while the government does nothing.
He stated on Facebook that thousands of people were facing a difficult situation.
"This morning at one of the markets in Pristina, I met citizens who said the same thing - the cost of living had become unaffordable. Thousands of people are struggling with unprecedented price increases. During the past two years, the average inflation rate in Kosovo reached more than 20 percent, while the prices of basic products increased by more than 50 percent. There have never been so many changes in such a short time. Despite this increase, the government has not offered any solution and the dignified life that Kosovo families deserve," Abdixhiku says.
He added that the Government had rejected the LDK proposals not because they had not been acceptable but because they had come from that party.
"We can't go on like this. We need to abolish VAT on basic products, reduce tax burdens and raise wages in line with inflation. This is the plan of the LDK, a plan on the side of families and working people," Abdixhiku added.
