Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Andjelkovic, met today with the Secretary General of the Association of Public Postal Operators in Europe – PostEurop, Botond Szebeni, and informed him about the extremely difficult situation faced by employees in Kosovo, as well as the arrests and closures of Post offices, which have resulted in the denial of pensions, social benefits, and salaries to Serbs in the north.

Szebeni visited the Post of Serbia today in preparation for the 40th General Assembly of PostEurop, which will be held on October 16-17 this year in Belgrade.

The meeting covered current projects and future plans of the Post of Serbia, including the automation of processes, the robotization of logistics centers, the development of new services, and the expansion of the parcel locker network, as announced by this public enterprise.

The discussion also included the final agreements and organizational preparations for the upcoming PostEurop Assembly, which contributes to the European postal professional community, according to the Post of Serbia's statement.

"By exchanging professional knowledge and improving both theory and practice, we will make a significant contribution to the European postal professional community. By bringing together all of us for whom the development of postal services is a professional choice, inspiration, and challenge, we will once again push the boundaries," said Andjelkovic.

Szebeni also held talks in Belgrade with representatives of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.

Founded in 1993, PostEurop is an association of public postal operators from 53 European countries. With 55 members and coverage of 175,000 sales points, the organization connects 800 million people daily and aims to advance the postal sector through innovation and the application of new technologies.

The jubilee General Assembly of PostEurop, one of the most significant annual events in the postal sector at the European level, will gather representatives from 55 public postal operators in Belgrade.

Participants will discuss future directions for the development of postal services and the challenges in an increasingly digitalized world.

A special focus will be placed on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the postal industry, which will be the main topic of the Business Forum held within the General Assembly.

The Post of Serbia is one of the oldest postal administrations in Europe and represents a founding country of the Universal Postal Union, established in Bern in 1874.

"The selection of the Post of Serbia as the host for this important event is recognition of its status, competence, and role in the European postal sector. The Post of Serbia was a successful host of this event in 2012 and hopes to once again provide participants with exceptional memories to take away from Belgrade," the Post of Serbia's statement concludes.
