Armed members of the special police in front of the Municipal Election Commission in North Mitrovica

Members of the special units of the Kosovo Police entered the premises of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in North Mitrovica.

As the reporter of Kosovo Online unofficially learns, one unexploded hand grenade was found in the premises of the MEC, and another near those premises. The demining teams are expected.

In front of the premises of the MEC there are two members of the special police units, armed with assault rifles, while there are more of them inside the premises. The street that passes there is blocked by police and EULEX vehicles.

Several explosions were heard in North Mitrovica today, when Albanian members of the MEC, with the assistance of armed special police, forcibly entered the premises used by the Election Commission and changed the locks. On that occasion, detonations were heard, and the premises were completely demolished.

The same thing happened in Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposavic, and the citizens of those municipalities were visibly upset.
