Atic insults Adriana Hoxhic alongside photo of Mladic, she announces criminal complaint
Former North Mitrovica Mayor Erden Atic sent an insulting message to Deputy President of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly Adriana Hoxhic alongside a photograph of former Republic of Srpska Army Commander Ratko Mladic, who died in The Hague today. Hoxhic told Kosovo Online that the post said more about Atic than anyone else and that she would file a criminal complaint against him tomorrow.
Atic posted a photograph of Mladic on Facebook alongside an insulting message in Albanian addressed to Adriana Hoxhic.
He provided no further explanation in the post, nor did he state why he had directed the message specifically at the Deputy President of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly.
Hodzic told Kosovo Online that such a post primarily spoke volumes about Erden Atic himself.
“It speaks about him—or, more precisely, it shows how much respect he has for the victims of Srebrenica, how much regard he has for minorities, and how much he values women. Let that be to his credit,” Hoxhic said.
She announced that she would file a criminal complaint against Atic tomorrow.
“I am very interested to see what the law enforcement authorities will do about this. They have been informed, and I will file a criminal complaint tomorrow. This is an opportunity to test the level of the rule of law in practice,” Hoxhic added.
Ratko Mladic, former Commander of the Republic of Srpska Army and a Hague Tribunal convict, died at the age of 84. He served as Commander of the Main Staff of the Republic of Srpska Army from 1992 to 1995. In June 2022, he was finally sentenced to life imprisonment.
