Baraliu: New elections this year would confirm the irresponsibility of Kosovo’s political class
Professor of Constitutional Law Mazllum Baraliu stated that the next candidate for the mandate to form a new Government of Kosovo should be a “unifying figure”, adding that the political class would act irresponsibly if Kosovo were to head to parliamentary elections once again this year.
Baraljiu emphasized that the Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosje) should propose a candidate for prime minister who has credibility.
“A new mandate holder is needed. That person could be someone from Vetëvendosje, but from its leadership—perhaps the deputy chairman, Glauk Konjufca, or another figure who, in my opinion, possesses a different kind of credibility,” Baraliu said, as reported by Koha.
He criticized all political leaders, stressing that the political class would be acting irresponsibly if Kosovo were to hold parliamentary elections again this year.
“This is an unworthy, unjust, and dishonest struggle that they are waging against each other, putting their political egos, Machiavellian ambitions for power, and personal benefits ahead of the interests of the state and its citizens,” Baraliu said.
