Brnabic with Christodoulides: Thank you, Cyprus, for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia
Serbia and Cyprus share the same stance regarding respect for international law, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic assessed during a meeting with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, expressing gratitude for Cyprus's continuous support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
Brnabic assessed that the two countries shared a strong friendship, historically confirmed closeness, and solidarity between their peoples, grounded in full understanding and years of mutual support, as stated by the Serbian Government.
She highlighted the commitment to enhancing cooperation, evidenced by the holding of the third joint session of the two governments. Brnabic expressed confidence that the memorandums signed between the ministries of Serbia and Cyprus would contribute to stronger collaboration, particularly in the fields of education, science, technological development, and innovation.
She assessed that the greatest potential for improving economic cooperation lay in increasing Cypriot direct investments in the Serbian economy, and called on Cypriot companies to invest more in the Serbian market.
The Prime Minister expressed the expectation that, besides increasing trade exchanges, cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, and tourism, where the two countries had significant potential, would be considered.
President Christodoulides stated that Cyprus was dedicated to accelerating the accession process of Western Balkan countries to the European Union, and conveyed strong support for Serbia on its European path, emphasizing that only such a policy ensured stability in the region and Europe.
