Burjani: Kurti’s presence at march could have caused discomfort

Analyst Blerim Burjani said that the presence of caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the “March for Freedom” in Pristina could have caused some discomfort or complications, given that he has never visited the KLA leaders in The Hague.

In a statement to Kosovo Online, Burjani said that political differences between Kurti and the Democratic Party of Kosovo were among the reasons why he did not attend yesterday’s gathering in Pristina.

“Given the political differences between the Prime Minister of Kosovo and the PDK, as well as their differing views on the way the PDK conducted its policies, his presence at the march could have caused certain discomfort or complications. Moreover, the fact that he has not visited The Hague to date could have made his presence even more sensitive,” Burjani assessed.

According to him, Kurti may have decided not to attend the gathering because of potential political tensions.

“It can therefore be said that it was not a matter of him being unwilling to support the march, but rather that, because of possible political tensions and potentially uncomfortable situations involving PDK representatives or individual participants, he decided not to attend,” the analyst said.
