CEC did not certify the Serb List's candidates for the elections on February 9th
The Central Election Commission (CEC) certified the AAK – Social Democratic Initiative – Conservatives – E30 coalition, but not the Serb List, according to Ekonomia online.
Two members of Self-Determination in the CEC, Sami Kurteshi and Alban Krasniqi, stated that the certification of the Serb List was controversial for several reasons.
"I have my reservations and I must express them. They involve many elements concerning the presentation of the Serbian List candidates. Thus, the Republic of Kosovo is never mentioned, instead, they refer to Kosovo and Metohija. It doesn't say 'long live Kosovo' but 'long live Serbia.' Representatives of this list maintain contact with Vucic's government, where Radoicic is also seen, linking them to the terrorist attack in Banjska and recently to the Ibar-Lepenac canal," said Kurteshi.
A representative of the DPK in the CEC, Arianit Elshani, reminded that the verification of candidate lists had gone through several institutions, and none had raised objections.
"According to the recommendation of the Party Registration Office, it was stated that this entity meets all the criteria to run for the elections on February 9. Also, this is based on statements from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all of whom said that they meet the criteria. In this case, I am reserved until a precise definition because the certification of entities must have a common consensus," said Elshani. At the session, two members voted against, two in favor, and seven were abstained.
