Citizens of Leposavic greeted Deputy Minister for Communities and Returns with whistles

This morning, citizens of Leposavic greeted Deputy Minister for Communities and Returns, Radoica Radomirovic, with whistles as he attempted to enter the municipal building with a group of about ten people.

Around 8 a.m., Radomirovic attempted to bring individuals into the building whom the Albanian mayor, Lulzim Hetemi, had appointed to various municipal services.

Citizens, who have been protesting for several months due to the presence of what they claim is an illegal Albanian mayor in the municipal building, greeted them with whistles.

After being prevented from entering the municipality, the group led by Radomirovic withdrew behind the building, waiting for KFOR soldiers, who contacted their command to receive instructions on further action and secure entry.

Although KFOR did not approve entry, after a little over an hour of waiting, Kosovo Police, despite opposition from the gathered citizens, allowed about ten people claiming to be employed in administration to enter through the rear entrance of the Leposavic Municipality building.

As reported by Kosovo Online's reporter, the situation is tense but calm.
