A conference on Kosovo "Prayer for peace, stability, and justice" will be held in Washington tomorrow

In the organization of the Serbian diaspora in the USA, a conference dedicated to Kosovo titled "Prayer for peace, stability, and justice" will be held in Washington tomorrow.

The conference will feature speakers, including the Serbian Ambassador to the USA, Marko Djuric, the Director of the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and the Serbs in the Region in the Government of Serbia, Arnaud Gouillon, as well as the Mayor of Strpce, Dalibor Jevtic. Additionally, it has been announced that the attendees will also hear from Nebojsa Arsic, the Rector of the University of Pristina with a temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica.

Many representatives of the Serbian diaspora will also participate, including the Eastern American Bishop Irinej, motivational speaker Nick Vujicic, and others.

Prior to his departure for Washington, Gouillon emphasized in an interview with Kosovo Online that the Serbian diaspora in Washington would showcase unity, just as they had done on every other occasion. He believes that this conference provides a great opportunity for people in the United States and worldwide to become better acquainted with the events in Kosovo.

"The Serbian diaspora knows how to be united when it's needed, and I became convinced of that back in 2014 when we, together with Serbian communities from all over Europe, organized numerous humanitarian convoys for Serbia and the Republika Srpska, which were hit by devastating floods. Several convoys departed from Paris, Switzerland, and Austria, and all were united, and any differences that existed, as there are always some differences within each group, were not felt because we were all working toward the same goal. We will demonstrate that unity in Washington in a few days, where I'm going at the invitation of our Ambassador, Marko Djuric. We will have a large gathering of the Serbian diaspora from the US about Kosovo and Metohija, with the aim of better networking and working together to help people in the US and the world gain a better understanding of the events in Kosovo and Metohija and to present them with a realistic picture. This is very important," Gouillon emphasized.

Gouillon expressed that the Serbian diaspora was unique and that as such was essential for Serbia.

"They have shown this in the past, are showing it today, and will continue to do so in the future. On the other hand, it is important for the state of Serbia, through the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and the Serbs in the Region, through the Government of Serbia, and other institutions, to demonstrate solidarity towards them and provide them the opportunity to contribute their full potential to our common struggle. Because this is our common fight for Serbia and for the Serbs, wherever they may live," Gouillon conveyed.
