Ilir Deda, a fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, expressed hope that Kosovo will meet Germany's demands by October 14 and unblock the CEFTA agreement, allowing the region to continue its development.

Deda says that there are specific expectations from the European Union and Germany regarding Kosovo and that after the Berlin Process summit on October 14, their decisions will be known, both regarding the Growth Plan and the integration of the Western Balkans into the European market, as well as whether Kosovo will be part of this process or not.

“That is why we are waiting for October 14. We’ll see. I support Kosovo fulfilling Germany’s demands to unblock CEFTA and other decisions expected to be part of the October 14 summit,” he said.

He believes that, after the summit, the region will enter a better phase.

“I think we will enter a better phase after this, also in terms of dialogue, so let’s wait. Nothing is certain yet, and there is a lot of speculation, but I would prefer to believe in a positive outcome in the coming weeks rather than a negative one,” Deda said.
