Delevic: Serb D.V. arrested yesterday at Brnjak released

The Kosovo Police has released D.V. from Zubin Potok, who was placed in 48-hour detention yesterday following his arrest at Brnjak, his defense attorney Milos Delevic confirmed.

Delevic previously stated that D.V. was being accused of giving a false statement.

"D.V. was detained at Brnjak in order to be questioned as a witness as part of an investigation into the criminal offense of 'war crimes against the civilian population,' for which two people from Zubin Potok had already previously been detained. During the questioning, the prosecutor decided to initiate proceedings against D.V. for giving a false statement, and he is now suspected of that offense. That is why he was placed in 48-hour detention," Delevic told Kosovo Online following D.V.'s detention.

It should be recalled that, in the previous period, three people were detained in the municipality of Zubin Potok over alleged war crimes, and the Basic Court in Pristina ordered up to 30 days of detention for them.

D.V. was released today and will defend himself while remaining at liberty in the further proceedings.
