Djuric and Young Kim: Support from members of Congress is vital for advancing Serbia–U.S. relations

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met in Washington with Congresswoman Young Kim, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Europe, with whom he discussed key bilateral issues, with particular emphasis on the importance of economic cooperation.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Djuric underscored the importance of support from Members of Congress in creating the most favorable political climate, which is an essential precondition for further advancing relations between Serbia and the United States.

The Serbian Foreign Minister also highlighted to his interlocutor the significance of the Serbian diaspora in the United States, which, numbering close to one million people, represents a valuable bridge of cooperation in Serbian–American relations.

The Minister briefed the Congresswoman on the main issues currently in Serbia’s focus and used the opportunity to invite her to visit Belgrade and Serbia in order to gain first-hand insight into the country’s full potential.
