Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference, and on this occasion, he pointed out that the position of Serbs in Kosovo can be described as the most difficult so far, which, he emphasized, is a direct consequence of the unilateral actions of the outgoing Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.

As stated by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djuric discussed with Berset the current situation in Serbia, the political moment, the implementation of reform processes on Serbia’s European path, as well as the situation in Kosovo.

"Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the head of Serbian diplomacy emphasized that the position of Serbs can be described as the most difficult so far, which is a direct consequence of Kurti’s unilateral actions that have escalated in recent times," the statement said.

Djuric expressed gratitude for the support the Council of Europe has provided to Serbia’s reform process for the past two decades, adding that the country maintains good cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade.
