Djuric with British Special Envoy Pierce on the violation of the rights of Serbs in Kosovo

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today in Dayton with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce.
On that occasion, Djuric noted that bilateral relations between Serbia and the United Kingdom are good and that there is significant potential for further development, which was also acknowledged during the recent visit of UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Belgrade, according to a statement from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Serbian foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the British side’s interest in expanding the scope of bilateral consultations and the initiative to include more areas of cooperation.
A significant part of the conversation was dedicated to the situation in Kosovo, where, as Minister Djuric emphasized, systematic violations of the human rights of Serbs are taking place daily before the eyes of the international public, endangering the stability of the region.
Djuric provided the envoy with detailed information on the latest wave of unilateral actions by Pristina in northern Kosovo, stressing that “the safety of Serbs in our southern province, as the most endangered national community in Europe, must be an absolute priority.”
