Serbian Ambassador to the USA Marko Djuric met with Congressman Joe Wilson, a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, with whom he discussed current events on the world political scene and the common desire for an end to the war in Eastern Europe, as well as the situation in Kosovo.

Djuric pointed out to Wilson the "events in the area of Kosovo and Metohija in recent days and the destabilizing moves of the Pristina authorities, emphasizing the facts that speak in favor of the constructive approach of Belgrade as a credible interlocutor at the negotiating table", the Embassy of Serbia in Washington announced.

Assessing him as a sincere friend of our country, who shows that Serbia and the USA share common values of peace, understanding and cooperation, Ambassador Djuric pointed out that Serbia greatly appreciated Congressman Wilson's wholehearted support for the start of the strategic dialogue between Serbia and the USA, as well as the "Open Balkans" initiative.

In this regard, he expressed special gratitude for the congressional letter that Congressman Wilson, together with Congressman Eric Swalwell, recently sent to President Joseph Biden, with the proposal that the USA host the "Open Balkans" Summit.

Among the topics of discussion were the perspectives of further improvement of the military cooperation between Serbia and the USA, as well as joint plans in the area of expanding the activities and membership of the Serbian Congressional Caucus, it was stated in the announcement.
