Djuric with Golob: Flagrant violation of human rights of Serbs in Kosovo

During a meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Djuric, highlighted the serious human rights violations faced by Serbs in Kosovo.
Djuric warned that the unilateral actions of Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, have led to what he described as flagrant violations of the human rights of the Serbian population in the region.
Djuric also emphasized the concerning situation on the ground, calling for urgent attention to the escalating tensions. He reiterated the importance of the international presence in Kosovo, expressing Serbia's deep appreciation for Slovenia’s participation in the KFOR mission, which plays a key role in maintaining peace and stability in the area.
This meeting underscores Serbia's ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the human rights issues faced by Serbs in Kosovo and calls for more robust international involvement.
Marko Djuric, assessing his visit to Ljubljana as an excellent opportunity to give new momentum to Serbian-Slovenian relations, expressed hope that a Joint Session of the two governments would take place in the near future. At this session, additional possibilities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest would be explored.
The Serbian Foreign Minister conveyed gratitude for Slovenia’s support of Serbia’s path toward full membership in the European Union, which remains a strategic goal for the country.
Speaking about Serbia's economic growth, which has doubled its GDP in the past decade and reduced unemployment from nearly 26% to single digits, Djuric highlighted economic cooperation as one of the most significant aspects of the bilateral relationship.
Noting that Belgrade will host the Specialized Expo 2027, Djuric emphasized that this will provide a great opportunity for Slovenian companies to participate in the implementation of Serbia's major infrastructure projects.
