Djuric: Kurti causes crises because he isn't faced with adequate consequences
Serbian Ambassador to Washington Marko Djuric stated that Belgrade had long been pointing out that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was part of the problem, not the solution, and that he continued to cause acute crises every few weeks because he was not faced with adequate consequences and sanctions for his actions, RTV reported.
Djuric told "Politika" that Belgrade shed light daily at various levels on the destabilizing activities of the Pristina regime, which systematically violated the individual and collective human, economic, and political rights of non-majority communities in Kosovo, especially Serbs.
"Kurti's ethnonationalist regime undermines everything the international community has invested tens of billions of dollars in over several decades," Djuric said, as reported by Tanjug.
According to him, although the primary responsibility for dialogue lies with the European Union, the implementation of sanctions mechanisms available to the EU and the US would act beneficially as a deterrent factor against new unilateral moves and refocusing on the dialogue process.
"I would like to remind that the chair of the Serbian caucus in Congress, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, has submitted a bill to suspend all cooperation with the so-called Kosovo until Kurti withdraws his forces from northern Kosovo and Metohija, stops the persecution of Serbs, and forms the CSM," Djuric said.
