Djuric meets with Murwira: We are grateful to Zimbabwe for its principled position on Serbia’s territorial integrity
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today in Belgrade with Amon Murwira. As Djuric emphasized, Serbia is deeply grateful to Zimbabwe for its principled position regarding Serbia’s territorial integrity.
“We are deeply grateful to Zimbabwe for its principled stance on the issue of our territorial integrity, because Kosovo and Metohija lie at the very core of our national identity. In return, Zimbabwe can count on Serbia’s support on all matters of national importance,” Djuric wrote in a post on the social network “X”.
He recalled that the friendship between the two countries dates back to the Non-Aligned Movement.
“The long-standing and traditionally close friendship and partnership between Serbia and Zimbabwe, rooted in the Non-Aligned Movement, continues to serve as the foundation of our strong relations across generations, both bilaterally and within multilateral forums,” the Serbian minister added.
According to him, Zimbabwe is planning to open its embassy in Belgrade.
“With regard to bilateral cooperation, we emphasized the importance of intensifying political dialogue, particularly through high-level visits. In that context, we are greatly encouraged by Zimbabwe’s determination to open its embassy in Belgrade in the future and elevate our ties to a higher level,” Djuric said.
Serbia and Zimbabwe, Djuric pointed out, are determined to deepen cooperation across various fields.
“As two countries that have historically shared close positions on many issues, we are determined to continue deepening and expanding our ties in all areas beneficial to our peoples and states, and I hope to welcome Mr. Murwira again in Belgrade soon,” the Serbian foreign minister stated.
