Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met today with Olivier Cadic, a member of the Senate of the Republic of France, and on that occasion pointed out the increasingly frequent unilateral actions of Pristina and the continuation of its policy of intimidation in the north of the province, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. Djuric reiterated his appeal to the international community to urgently take steps to ensure security and protect the rights of the Serbian people.

Cadic is in Belgrade to take part in the France–Western Balkans Business Forum.

During the meeting, Djuric emphasized that bilateral relations between Serbia and France are at an exceptional level, characterized by intensive political dialogue and communication at all levels.

He noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries, which next year marks 15 years since its signing, plays a special role in the constant advancement and deepening of cooperation in various areas. Djuric stressed that the excellent personal relations and meetings between Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Emmanuel Macron represent a strong symbol of the shared commitment to further strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The Serbian foreign minister stated that Serbia’s European path is a clear strategic priority, and that EU membership remains the country’s most important foreign policy objective.

The discussion placed particular emphasis on the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a key segment in improving bilateral relations, noting that its growing intensity in recent years is an encouraging sign.

Djuric pointed out that the friendship groups in the parliaments of Serbia and France are active and make a significant contribution to promoting Serbian–French friendship.

“The interlocutors also discussed economic cooperation, which in recent years has been gaining strong momentum and expanding into new areas, thus matching the excellent political relations. The minister recalled that numerous major infrastructure projects have been successfully implemented with French partners and that new ones are being launched, which will further enhance Serbia’s economic development,” the statement reads.

He also emphasized that Serbia is working diligently on preparations for the specialized EXPO 2027 exhibition, a project of national importance, which the country sees as an opportunity to showcase its potential and attract new investments.
