Djuric with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu: We are ready to actively engage in the Pacific region

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, Charlot Salwai, in Nukuʻalofa, the capital of the Kingdom of Tonga, where the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting is being held.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that Serbia is committed to further strengthening overall relations with the Republic of Vanuatu, adding that today's talks, along with upcoming high-level meetings, will contribute to these efforts.

Djuric also expressed his pleasure at the news that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vanuatu, Matai Seremaiah, has accepted the invitation to visit the Serbian capital soon, highlighting the importance of such continuity in the political dialogue between Serbia and the Kingdom of Tonga.

"The fact that Serbia will participate in the implementation of three development projects in the Republic of Vanuatu is proof of our readiness to actively engage in the Pacific region and contribute to the development of Vanuatu," Djuric emphasized during the meeting.

The interlocutors exchanged views on potential areas for future cooperation, identifying agriculture, sports, information technology, and education – particularly through university collaboration and the awarding of scholarships under the "World in Serbia" program, which has been successfully implemented for many years.
