Serbia’s participation at the World Expo in Osaka is of great importance for promoting the country in the international community and represents a significant step in enhancing Serbia’s image worldwide, said Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, who visited Serbia’s pavilion in Osaka during his working visit to Japan.

“Here in Osaka, the atmosphere at the Expo is incredible. It is clear that the Expo is much more than just an exhibition. Here, the whole world is truly presented in the best possible light, and that is why I am proud that Serbia has managed to make its pavilion at the Expo in Osaka one of the most visited, with an incredible more than 700,000 visitors so far, while at the same time being the most economical, according to what we hear from the organizers,” Djuric said.

He noted that Serbia has succeeded in presenting not only its culture, philosophy, and history, but also in sending a message that it is a country of the future.

“That it is the host country of Expo 2027 and that it wants to welcome these millions of people who are coming as guests to learn more about our culture, but also for us to become a meeting place for business leaders, thinkers, and people who need to solve humanity’s problems – from climate change and challenges related to the sustainability of life on Earth, given all the problems facing humanity, to art, dance, and culture, which is also the theme of our Expo – ‘Play for Humanity.’ That is why I assess our participation at the Expo in Osaka as extremely important for the promotion of the country throughout the international community, and I congratulate all those who worked on this, because this is a significant step in improving the image of our country in the world,” the minister emphasized.

He also mentioned that at the restaurant in the Osaka Expo visitors can try Serbian cevapi (grilled minced meat sausages), Serbian drinks, and much more.

“Here is our entire philosophy of life, our science, art, and culture, and I am delighted because of that,” Djuric said.

On the other hand, he stressed that his visit to the exhibition in Osaka crowns a very successful visit to Japan, representing a step forward in relations between the two countries, and also a prelude to upcoming high-level visits in the following weeks.

“Considering that earlier this month we also held meetings in Washington with the US Secretary of State, and that in Belgrade we hosted various African and many other ministers, I would say that this August we certainly did not sleep through, but rather pushed forward with all our strength for Serbia on all meridians,” Djuric concluded.
