Drecun: Continuous pressure on the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija

Milovan Drecun, the President of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, stated that the recent events in Kosovo indicated continuous pressure on the Serbian people, making it clear to them that they were not welcome to live there, as reported by RTV.

Drecun told Pink TV that actions and measures were being implemented to make life difficult for the Serbian people in Kosovo and create a situation that was devoid of prospects for them.

According to Drecun, during all this time, Albin Kurti is promoting a story about alleged de-escalation and mentioning some civil initiative for the dismissal of the mayors, but all of it is, as he emphasized, "a pretense of de-escalation."

"Under the guise of de-escalation, which cannot be characterized as a situation that will lead to the calming of the current crisis in northern Kosovo, Kurti is taking unilateral actions that represent a continuation of dreadful terrorizing and pressure on the Serbian people," Drecun emphasized.

As he mentioned, arrests are being carried out for various reasons, and the entry of trucks with Serbian goods from Serbia to Kosovo is not allowed, hindering the regular supply of food and medicine to the Serbian people.

He also added that 48 Serbian companies were at risk of being banned from operating because they had the terms Serbia or Kosovo and Metohija in their names.

According to him, the primary target is MTS, which greatly bothers the Pristina authorities because it has 30,000 subscribers in its cable system, who are, as he emphasizes, Serbs who get informed through it.

"When someone wants to subdue a community and a people, they primarily want to misinform them and present them with information that suits the side doing it. Kurti would very much like to abolish that cable system," Drecun emphasized.

He also mentioned that, according to the information he had received, besides Serbs, 20,000 Albanians used mobile telephony services, meaning they were MTS subscribers, and that the company could expand throughout the entire territory of Kosovo.

"Now they want to abolish MTS and prevent the Serbian people from watching our television," Drecun added, reminding that Telekom Srbija was the only means of communication for the Serbian community in northern Kosovo.
