Lucic: MTS d.o.o. will continue to work; the decision of the Agency from Pristina is legally unfounded

General Director of "Telekom Srbija" Vladimir Lucic visited the office of "MTS d.o.o." today in North Mitrovica, from where he said that he would use all legal means to fight for the smooth operation of the company in Kosovo and that the last decision of the Business Registration Agency from Pristina was completely legally unfounded, with the announcement that the goals were to work on expanding the company's work in the future the entire territory of Kosovo.

Lucic said that he was completely satisfied with the business that the company "MTS d.o.o." realized in the territory of Kosovo, that their work was not threatened in any way and with today's visit he wanted to support all workers in Kosovo.

"We are very satisfied with everything that our company achieves here. We have over 250 employees and this company records an increasing income and number of users every year, and we are proud of its business. The result of good business is the new building in Kosovska Mitrovica as well as the building in Gracanica. Today I also have a special reason, because I want to support all the workers and tell them that Telekom Srbija will always stand behind them, especially after the last notice from the Business Registration Agency, which ordered that our company be deleted from the register under the completely strange explanation that one of the management members, according to their criteria, has a defective passport, which is a catastrophic mistake that was made on the intention of that agency, which is now in an internal campaign against Klan Kosovo and is trying to include us in that conflict," Lucic said.

He clarified that Telekom Srbija - "MTS d.o.o." had been registered according to the Brussels agreement and that it was clearly visible in the register of the Agency from Pristina, and thus there was not a single objective legal reason for such a decision, which he believed would be changed, and if this was not the case, he would seek justice in court.

"We have a period of 30 days to complain about that decision and I am absolutely sure, because that solution is political, not legal, that ours will be accepted and that we will solve the problem in the right way. We have informed all embassies in Pristina and Serbia about this problem, as well as the relevant officials in Brussels. Due to this absurd reason that we got this decision, it was difficult for us to explain this case at the beginning, because everyone who listened to us was quite surprised how we even got that decision based on this reason, so I am convinced that there was a mistake which the Agency will correct in the second instance decision. If not, then we will seek legal protection and you can be sure that we will stay here to work because we have been doing business successfully for a full decade; it is not possible for someone to suddenly say that we do not have good documentation," Lucic points out.

Lucic is convinced that the mistakes of the Registration Agency will be corrected and announces even more ambitious plans for the development of "MTS d.o.o."

"Not only will we stay but we have ambitious plans to expand operations in this territory as we have been doing for the past three years so rest assured that we will meet our goal of being the number one operator in every territory and rest assured that at some point we will and be the number one operator here," Lucic said.

According to Lucic, the letter that arrived from Pristina shows the complete groundlessness of what is being charged, it speaks of disrespect for rights, but he notes that there is no reason to fear that the work of this company in Kosovo will be terminated.

"Telekom Srbija has enough power to alert all those who can help on this issue, and I am absolutely sure that we can defend ourselves in this case and that we will show that everything cannot be done by force. As Telkom, we operate in ten countries from Germany to North Macedonia and Turkey. We have no problems anywhere; in fact, we have become one big European operator. We will not allow someone to shut us down here by trampling on fundamental rights because if someone were to start with that method, they must be aware that in the end Telekom will win, and any destruction towards us, by force, would mean large-scale compensation for damages, and I am completely sure of the everyone's elementary reasonableness and that common sense will prevail in this case and that the basic legal norm will be respected," Lucic said.

The company "MTS d.o.o." has been operating in Kosovo for ten years and received a license according to the Brussels Agreement until the third license was issued, for which a tender was never called because Telekom would have the right to operate in the entire territory, says Lucic, who believes that in healthy competition they would have the right to a third license. in which there would be no restrictions that currently exist in the field, primarily in the number of users.

"In cable television, it was important for us to take over operators who did not have the strength to develop in order to provide quality internet and all televisions, first of all, to Serbian families. Now we have about 30,000 users, which I consider a good move. We are satisfied with our work and the income and operations of our company. Every year we hire new young people and we are a good example that other companies, especially private ones, should follow because if we as a state company decided to invest this much, I don't see why other companies from Serbia wouldn't do the same and hire young people," Lucic concluded.
