Drecun: Pristina had been preparing the ground for yesterday's arrest and potential upcoming ones for days

Milovan Drecun, President of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, stated that the ground for yesterday's arrest in northern Kosovo, as well as possible future arrests planned by Pristina, had been prepared for days, RTS reports.

"Kurti spoke about the clash in Zvecan involving a criminal group that, as he claims, allegedly infiltrated from Belgrade. They talked about the existence of some civilian protection and a Serbian militia, and then he started talking about the need to establish the rule of law, that the groups allegedly responsible for injuring KFOR soldiers must be arrested or returned to central Serbia," Drecun explained during his appearance on the Morning Program.

According to him, KFOR spokesperson Andrea Gallieni also emphasized that the Kosovo Police must arrest those responsible for injuring KFOR members.

"It was clear after the statement by the KFOR representative that such an action would follow. He had a list of people who were supposed to be arrested, allegedly identified," Drecun highlighted.

He added that Kurti had then announced the five points of his plan for de-escalating the situation. However, as he said, the first two points are precisely about those arrests.

Drecun expects Kurti to continue with this action.

"Because if he sticks to that list, then new arrests will follow," Drecun said.
