Veton Elshani, Director of Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, stated to Kosovo Online that the police operation following the raids on the branches of the Postal Savings Bank in the north is still ongoing. He added that no one has been arrested, but one person has been brought in for questioning as a witness.

Elshani reported that the police received information about possible illegal operations in the north, which prompted the police to enter the bank with a prosecutor's warrant and representatives from the tax administration.

"We entered six branches, and we are not finished yet. We are still working to verify everything," Elshani said.

He added that it will be determined later whether the case will be investigated by the economic crime unit or another unit.

He specified that the police entered the branches of the Postal Savings Bank in all four northern municipalities – three in North Mitrovica and one each in Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavic.

"One man has been brought in as a witness to give a statement. We have not arrested anyone," Elshani emphasized.
