The family of Dejan Pantic, in despair after the statement of the head of EULEX, appeals to the authorities to grant him the right to call his family

Suzana Pantic, the wife of the arrested Dejan Pantic, told Radio Mitrovica Sever that they were desperate, after tonight's statement by the head of Eulex, Lars Gunnar Wigemark, that he had contradictory information regarding whether her husband received therapy or not, and that Eulex did not know his precise location.

"On the fifth day since the arrest of my husband, neither the children, nor I have still heard Dejan's voice, nor has he received the right to be called, nor do we know where he is, whether he is well, whether he has received therapy. According to today's statement by the police that he received medication, we were encouraged, but after the statement of the head of EULEX, we are desperate and powerless," said Suzana Pantic.

She appealed to all relevant institutions, the international community, organizations that fight for human rights, to get involved and demand from the authorities that they enable Dejan to contact his family with a single phone call, and that he be adequately treated in detention with the provision of prescribed therapy.

The family calls on the competent judicial institutions to inform them without delay where Dejan is after his arrest and whether he was transferred to one of the prisons in Kosovo, after they learned for sure that he spent more than 48 hours on a chair in the special police base in Jarinje.

The family is grateful to the state leadership of Serbia and all citizens who support their struggle.

Dejan Pantic was arrested on December 10 at the Jarinje crossing, and two days later, after hearing via video link, the judge ordered him to be detained for up to 30 days, under the suspicion that he participated in the attack on the premises and staff of the Central Election Commission in North Mitrovica.
