Garic: Kurti can create incidents, but he will not succeed in taking over the north
The editor-in-chief of the "Kosovo Online" portal, Milos Garic, assessed today that Albin Kurti could create chaos, conflicts, and incidents, but that he would not succeed in his intention, which was to control the Serb-majority municipalities and the north of Kosovo.
"That is his wish, as it was the wish of all the other extreme politicians in Pristina. It is clear that the Serbs will resist all this and will not allow it. When you see the Albanian police coming to the northern Serb-majority municipalities - those people are scared and they are coming there unwillingly," Garic told Television K1.
He added that even Haradinaj was clear that this should not be done.
"Yesterday, he told Kurti not to do that, because he saw that it would only lead to even more determined resistance from the Serbs and that the Albanians would not be able to control the north of Kosovo in any way. Kurti definitely opened the eyes of the Serbs that there was no Brussels agreement." Garic assessed.
He assesses that only a determined and complete resistance to this kind of terror from Pristina can bring results to the Serbs.
"No agreement with Albin Kurti is possible at this moment, that's completely clear. I see Petar Petkovic's message as an attempt to let everyone know that Serbia wants to use all the rights it has, according to international agreements, and the UN Resolution 1244 is the main document, now when they already trampled on the Brussels agreement, and they trampled on it in both Brussels and Pristina," Garic believes.
He points out that Serbia has the right to refer to UN Resolution 1244.
Garic adds that in Pristina they are now committed to proving their non-existent statehood in the entire territory of Kosovo.
"Their police minister said that with the help of police officers, they would maintain order and peace in the north and that they would ultimately conduct the elections they had announced for December 18, which is a complete lie and it is completely clear that this cannot happen," Garic said.
He assessed that it could only be a prelude to an accident, the scale of which can only be guessed at this moment.
"Those form the West are still trying to sell us a fabricated state. It will be like this until they take some decisive steps and let the extremists in Pristina know that this is not a way that can lead to any solution, but on the contrary leads to a state in which we will return to that period of twenty years ago, to a time of conflict and great uncertainty," Garic believes.
He adds that the Albanians will use any indecisiveness of the West to implement their plan by force.
Garic points out that now, the most important thing is that there is currently peace in the area of northern Kosovo and Metohija, but that it is only an apparent peace.
"Albanian policemen from southern Mitrovica were deployed in all the main streets of North Mitrovica yesterday, and that is what created a dramatic situation last night because it was not known what the intentions of the Albanian police were at the moment when they, in large number, started to occupy the streets in North Mitrovica," Garic stated.
Explaining the decision of the Albanian side, which has been hinted at, that they will send a contingent of police in order to establish security in the north, he states that it is just a sham and that they are trying to put that area under the control of Pristina under the guise of the safety of all citizens.
"Kurti has the police; they have weapons in their hands, but Kurti is demonstrating his impotence by sending those people to the Serbian areas. He cannot break the Serbs like that, that is quite clear and he cannot take over the Serbian areas, no matter how much he wants to. Especially he cannot do that in the north. These are the unintelligent moves of a desperate person," Garic concludes.
