At a meeting today with the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, the German Embassy addressed the measures taken by the Government of Kosovo over the past weekend, which resulted in the revocation of Kosovo citizenship and the deportation of four Kosovo Serbs, the German Embassy in Pristina stated for Kosovo Online.

In a written response to our portal, the Embassy emphasized the following:

“We stress that such sensitive decisions must be made in full accordance with all legal provisions, including the European Convention on Human Rights, and that those affected must be guaranteed full access to legal counsel and the possibility of legal remedy. The Embassy is closely monitoring developments regarding these cases,” the response concluded.

As a reminder, four Serbs have been deported from Kosovo over the past two days and have been banned from entering Kosovo for the next five years. These individuals are employed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia.
