German Embassy: We have taken note of Popovic’s arrest and will continue to monitor developments

Regarding the arrest and 30-day detention of Igor Popovic, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the German Embassy in Kosovo has issued a statement.
In a response to Kosovo Online, they stated that “the German Embassy has taken note of the arrest of Mr. Popovic.”
“We expect that all proceedings will be handled in full accordance with the rule of law. The Embassy will continue to monitor developments in this case,” the statement reads.
In addition to the German Embassy, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo also commented.
“In line with the principles of judicial impartiality and independence, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo does not comment on ongoing court proceedings. However, we underline the importance of respecting the rule of law, ensuring fair proceedings, and guaranteeing that judicial processes are conducted transparently and impartially, in accordance with international human rights standards.”
