Gervalla: Lajcak unsuccessful in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue process

Kosovo's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gervalla, stated for RTK 1 that the EU envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, had been unsuccessful in that process and that he had entered it "without a strategy and vision."

"It seems that he will exit the dialogue when his mandate expires," Gervalla said, noting that Lajcak's "promises to Kosovo are valid for less than 24 hours." She added that "Banjska is the best proof that the entire dialogue process has failed."

Gervalla emphasized that she "does not hide that the CSM draft is not good."

According to her, the measures of the European Union toward Kosovo are not only unfair but also completely incomprehensible, "not only for us but also for some representatives of the European Union."

Speaking about the incident in Banjska on September 24, she stated that there had been different assessments from EU institutions, which had led to a wrong assessment of what had happened in Kosovo.

"The fact is that the EU, even after declarations and resolutions of the European Parliament, even after various declarations of EU member states, the EU as an institution, or that part of EU institutions dealing with EU foreign policy, specifically Borrell's office, failed to give an opinion on what happened in Banjska," Kosovo's minister assessed, adding that Kosovo would present all the facts to understand what had happened in Banjska.

As she pointed out, KFOR and EULEX have "all the facts about this terrorist attack."

"We will be very vocal, we ask that the truth not be hidden. In conversations, they confirm to us that everyone knows who is behind the terrorist attack in Banjska, the United States, EU member countries, NATO, the EU, and EULEX all know," she said.

Gervalla stated that what had happened in Banjska was a "tragedy" and added that "Serbia's plans were completely different, but Kosovo institutions managed to prevent the realization of Serbia's plan."

Furthermore, she emphasized that the visit of UK Foreign Minister David Cameron was significant for Kosovo, stating that he "has shown a willingness to help prevent Moscow's and Belgrade's terror in this part of Europe."

As she said, Cameron is a politician with exceptional experience who is very well-informed.

"This year marks the 25th anniversary of NATO intervention in Kosovo to stop genocide. Let's remember former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who did not leave any doors in the United States or major European countries without knocking, trying to urgently intervene in Kosovo," Gervalla noted.

She also spoke about cooperation between Kosovo and Albania, stating that cooperation was necessary for citizens in both Albania and Kosovo.
