The Government on the ban on the import of goods from Serbia: There is no need to rush to cancel the measures
The spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Perparim Kryeziu, told Telegrafi that there was a noticeable improvement in the situation in the north, but that there was no need to rush to cancel the measures for the import of goods from Serbia.
"The previous measures were security measures, after the abduction of three Kosovo policemen from the territory of our country and on the border with Serbia. The security institutions have assessed that an increase in control and vigilance at the crossings with Serbia is necessary, and they have so far evaluated the measures and acted on them. The analysis of the security situation is underway. It has been ascertained that there is an improvement in the situation and we want everything to return to 'normal' as soon as possible. We are optimistic that the improved situation will allow the removal of the measures, but there is no need to rush," Kryeziu said.
He added that the final assessment was always up to the security institutions that recommended further steps.
The ban on the import of goods from Serbia has been in effect since June 15, and Prime Minister Albin Kurti said earlier that the decision had been made for security reasons.
