Haxhiu dismisses Serbian judges who resigned in 2022

Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu today dismissed 18 Serbian judges who had submitted their resignations in 2022.

“Following the proposal of the Kosovo Judicial Council, and in accordance with constitutional and legal obligations, today I dismissed 18 Serbian judges who submitted their resignations in 2022,” Haxhiu wrote on Facebook.

On August 27, the Kosovo Judicial Council rejected the request by Serbian judges and court staff to withdraw their resignations and return to the judicial system. Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu welcomed the decision and announced that she would immediately take steps to dismiss them from office.
